WATER SAFETY TIPS

Keep your child safe before it’s too late

Drowning is one of the main causes of death in the world. It can happen quickly, and silently, especially for young children and toddlers

By being alert, you can ensure that you and your child have a worry-free and fun time splashing around safely.

WATER SAFTY BASICS

  • Maintain constant attention and supervision of your child in the water at all times

  • Keep your child within and arms reach

  • Set water safety rules that your child understand & must follow

  • Invest in swimming lessons for your family, so that your children can be strong and experienced swimmers

  • It is good to be equipped with basic First Aid/CPR skills. You never know that these skills might be able to save a life one day - not just your own child but others too!

  • Always have a cell phone nearby to call for emergency services if needed

FLOAT SAFETY

  • If your child is an unexperienced swimmer, always make sure that they have a flotation device or life jacket worn at all times

  • Keep any toys or items that might attract children out of the pool when you are not using it

  • Always make sure your child is not playing with toys alone in the water

  • Advise your child to not swim under the floats

  • Check for the height and weight restrictions on the float label

  • Always read the assembly instructions and warnings before using any floats

  • Never rely fully on floats to keep your child safe! Remember that constant adult supervision and following proper swimming rules will always be the safest for your child.
